13 things I need to do before Christmas

  1. make candies with the kids
  2. bake cookies for friends and Sean’s co-workers
  3. hang lights on porch
  4. buy flowers and ribbon for the pitiful wreath hanging on my wall (that currently only has 2 little poinsettas in it)
  5. make my Christmas wish list for Sean
  6. design and mail out Christmas cards
  7. take holiday portrait of kids
  8. do holiday crafts with the kids
  9. go to Opryland Hotel to see all of the lights and decorations
  10. seeĀ The Nativity Story
  11. buy ALL presents (I’m a last minute shopper…)
  12. mail gifts to out-of-town family

  1. sounds busy, but managable!

Sounds like alot to get done!!

The Nativity Story does look good. I want to see that too!

It would be great to see the Opryland Hotal lights and decorations. I hope you’ll post pictures of that!!

    Happy Thursday!

  3. Great list! #13 is certainly the most important. Good luck accomplishing everything on your list.

    Have a good day. :)

  4. Chaotic Mom says

My hubby is right there at Opryland NOW! At a conference. Man, he says his hotel is GORGEOUS. I was tempted to drive there to be with him this week, but that’d be too long in the car with three little boys… ;)

I’ve posted my Thursday Thirteen, too. Enjoy!

  5. I’ve got to do the holiday portrait. STRESS. And I’m a last-minute shopper, too, no matter how hard I try not to be. :) Maybe I’ll print out your list and use it as my own.

    Happy th13!

  6. Southern Girl says

A fellow Tennessean! How neat. :) That’s a long list — hope you’re able to get it all done. I really want to see “The Nativity Story,” too. I’ve been reading recently the blog of the woman who I think wrote the novelization of it.

Happy TT! Mine is up as well.

  7. Southern Girl says

Hey, Karla, to answer your question — I’m not reading the *novelization*, just Angela Hunt’s blog. ;) Here’s a link to it in case you want to check it out:

I first discovered her by finding a connection she has to my home church — her music minister when she was a teenager, was my music minister here in Memphis until last year. I’ve actually never read her books, but now I think I’ll need to check them out! :)

  8. Great list, Karla! We tried a family portrait at Thanksgiving, but I was glowering at Mitch’s mom in every shot! Those pics won’t be going in the old Christmas cards!
Let us know how you liked The Nativity Story… Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by my blog,

  9. So much to do… So little time!

    My TT is posted too

  10. It’s that Christmas shopping thing that intimidates me. I’m always worried I’m going to buy stupid stuff.

I do enjoy sending out Christmas cards though.

    My 13 are up.

  11. I haven’t even STARTED – yikes!

  12. Joely Sue Burkhart says

Me too on the last minute shopping. We haven’t sent Christmas Cards for two years because I keep waiting until the last possible minute to get the picture cards made, and something always happens to them. Last year I didn’t get them until almost Feb. Duh.

  13. Domestic Goddess says

    busy, busy, busy!

  14. I would make my list, but I’m scared to see how many things would be on it. I’m in complete denial!

  15. I haven’t even thought of decorating for Christmas. I only have 2 people to buy for now, so I’m not in a huge rush to shop. Some people here decorated before Thanksgiving. Yikes. Thanks for stopping by!

  16. I made cookies today. Now I never want to make cookies again.
But I love the Christmas season – and your list made me feel so festive!

  17. I want to see the Nativity Story too. And boy, do I envy your Christmas card making…I just don’t have the patience. I want to if that counts!
    Happy TT!

  18. I’m exhausted reading your list…ha! Just posted my first.
