The Freecycle Network

I’m probably the last person to join, but have you checked out your local freecycle? I joined the local group yesterday and am excited about getting started.

Don’t know what it is? It’s a group of people who want to find new homes for their old things, other than the landfill. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to be able to give my things to someone who I knew could use it and appreciate it. You can also list items that you are looking for.

From their site:

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,226 groups with 4,332,000 members across the globe. It’s a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them’s good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!

If you haven’t already, check out your local freecycle.

How timely! I was just telling a friend about our local Freecycle group today. LOVE freecycling – such a great way to get rid of STUFF.

I love Freecycle too. In fact, we found our dog, Jack on Freecycle about 2 months ago!

It’s such a great way to get rid of things you don’t use…and to find some things you might need! Enjoy.

Freecycle is awesome. Sadly, my town isn’t big enough, but since it IS so small, all I have to do is mention at church that we’re looking for a bed for The Baby and by bedtime, hey presto.

I guess you were not the only person – b/c I have never heard of it. I bookmarked it to check it out. Thanks for info.
