True Identity

I got this bible today and LOVE it! It’s True Identity – the Bible for Women, from Zondervan. I highly recommend it for any woman. The features listed on the back are:

  • 100 “myths” articles – lies the world tells us and the truth of God’s word
  • 30 “ask me anything” profiles of women of the bible
  • 200 “conversations” notes for reflecting on what’s been read, or discussing with friends
  • 200 “He is…” callouts help you get to know God as He reveals Himself in the Bible
  • 300 “at issue” notes offer short relevant teachings on a variety of life topics such as money, sex or pride
  • book introductions
  • topical index
  • articles

It’s the TNIV version and it’s written in a single column so there is a lot of space in the margins for note taking.

I just feel such a craving to get to know the Lord so much more intimately. I feel like He is moving me to do something. I just don’t know what it is yet…

While I was at the mall, I was stopped by one of those salespeople in the booths set up in the walkways. I normally “ignore” them, but I stopped at one that had products from the Dead Sea. The lady did this thing on my fingernails that got rid of the ridges and smoothed them and made them shiny. I still keep looking at it because it is such a pretty fingernail now. I know that sounds silly, but when you see it next to the others you see a big difference. I found it online here and there are other companies that have products as well, as you can see on this search.

I just sent Quinn to his room because he was talking too loudly after I had asked him to quiet down.

Quinn went to his room and came right back out and said “I talked to God about it and He said I could come out.”

Excellent sermon and then some

Last week our church began a series called “Night Vision” that discusses “A Christian Response to the threats of today.” Here* is the link for reading the sermon. (You can also watch it here*, if you have highspeed internet.) We’ve made the decision to join the church – we feel so blessed and fed at this church.

Seamus got two teeth this week. Both are on the bottom and he thinks he’s so cool now… I tried to take a picture of them but he just sticks out his tongue when I try to pull down his lip.

So I was looking on line to see who makes store brand foods; Kroger carries their store brand of cocoa puffs, and they are sooooo yummy. I think they are better than cocoa puffs (and cheaper.) Couldn’t find any info on who makes them. Don’t know why I wanted to know, I just get random questions in my head and have to search for answers online. It’s a bad habit…

My goals

I’ve been thinking of my goals and have decided to write them down so that it’s out there for everyone to see. Maybe that will help inspire me to really prioritize them and place a degree of importance to them.

Today I am going to just write them out – any and every goal, no matter how practical or frivalous. And in no particular order; I’ll do that another day. So here it goes…

My Goals (in no particular order)

This is my start…

Easter Egg Hunt

Our church hosts a huge Easter Egg hunt for the Nashville area. Talk about a lot of kids. We had a blast. We took Abbie’s friend, J with us. I’ve never seen so many eggs! It was a gorgeous day – just perfect! It’s an awesome ministry because it gets kids from all over the city and introduces the real meaning of Easter, which is our Risen Lord! Abbie gets the meaning of Easter. She knows what Jesus did for her. Her questions warm my heart and I pray the Lord will hold her close.

Today was Abbie’s last day with J – she and her family are moving to Florida tomorrow…

Quinn is a big Star Wars fan. So, it is inevitable that it will rub off on me (after seeing the movies over and over.) I was very surprised to learn some new things about the movies. Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia that I’ve come across and you can learn about anything on it, including Star Wars. I may have found a new favorite site…

I saw a news report on this man the day he retired. What an amazing and fulfilling life he had. And what a work ethic!

Dog is still with us.
